ProeLang is a result of a year-long cooperation between the teachers of two different languages who worked on conceptualising an innovative, easy and attractive for the learners and transferable to other languages online blueprint based on what we called toolkit, which is set of online resources and applications designed into paths of learning.
The ProeLang follows the philosophy of Personal Learning Environments, which are the systems that help learners take control of and manage their own learning. This includes providing support for learners to § set their own learning goals; § manage their learning (managing both content and process); § communicate with others in the process of learning and thereby achieve learning goals. Short analysis: Ø Website (desktop learning) We have started to build a website to create an environment which we call e-desktop learning. We aim at developing the set of learning tools that allow student to follow on her own paste and in her own ways. All the student needs is a computer and internet. The rest can be done on the desktop. Ø Cooperation: parallel steps? The two languages we work with are two separate paths. We follow each other and we aim at having the steps as similar as possible, but they differ, the differences are results of the differences of the language as well as the differences of the our individual preferences. And this is also what our project is about. WE wish to give space to the individual preferences and differences as well. The cooperation, though, is crucial in our project: we learn from each other, we force the problems and together try to find solutions. Ø Creative learning, creative teaching: we believe the desktop learning, to optimize the internet resources and find offer students their individual paths of learning is the most creative way to deal with teaching and learning in our time.
