Ramona Gonczol is a Senior Teaching Fellow in Romanian language at University College London, School of Slavonic and East European Studies. Ramona teaches all Romanian language courses as well as translation and is partof the teaching team on Languages in Contact course. She coordinates the evening classes programme on pedagogical matters. She is the author of Romanian An Essential Gramar (2007, Routledge) and the co-author of Colloquial Romanian (2011, 4th ed.,Routledge) as well as the author of several articles on pedagogy, literature and language. She is also a cultural adviser on Romanian language and cultural matters for a variety of institutions in the UK.
She has completed or is working on a variety of linguistic and educational projects, both offline and online, as well as for the European Union and the Foreign and Commonwealth Office. Her research interests lie in the area of digital learning, Romanian as a foreign language, translating and interpreting and cultural diversity. She is always looking for project opportunities to collaborate across Europe and beyond in order to advance educational resources and learning outcomes for students. |
Urszula Chowaniec, Ph.D. is a Senior Teaching Fellow in Polish Language at University College London, School of Slavonic and East European Studies. She also acts as an Assistant Professor at Andrzej Frycz Modrzewski Kraków University, Poland. She teaches courses in Polish language on various levels and translation with elements of Polish culture. She is an author of many online projects, apart from PROeLANG, she created Polish Trails in London web (http://polishtrails.weebly.com), she also edits the online journal Women Online Writing (at: http://www.womenonlinewriting.org/home.html). She leads other projects, such as on Polish culture of migration, called eMigrating Landscapes (see: http://emigratinglandscapes.org).
Apart of language training and online learning methodology, she is a specialist in contemporary Polish literature and author of books on this topic. She is an author of In Search of a Woman: Early Novels by Irena Krzywicka (in Polish 2007), as well as Melancholic Migrating Bodies: Contemporary Polish Women’s Writing (2015). She has edited and contributed to a number of volumes, including Masquerade and Femininity: Essays on Polish and Russian Women Writers (2008), Mapping Experience in Polish and Russian Women’s Writing (2010), and Women’s Voices and Feminism in Polish Cultural Memory (2012). |
